North Andover – John F. Broderick, 76, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Wilmington Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Margaret T. (Roy) Broderick.
Born in Portumna, Ireland, John was the son of Thomas and Kathleen (Curran) Broderick.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was vice president of research and development for Chomerics in Woburn until his retirement. In his free time, John loved golfing, boating, and gardening. For over 18 years, he was well known for organizing an annual pig roast for his family and friends.
John is survived by a daughter Karen Small and her husband Frank, Jr. of Methuen, a sister Mary Connors and her husband Thomas of Scottsdale, AZ, four grandchildren Victoria, Joshua, Jared, and Julia Small, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three sisters Catherine Broderick, Rita Clavero, and Carol Nyhan and a brother Thomas Broderick.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover.
Friends will be warmly received on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
