Worcester- Paul D. Castle Sr., 73, of Worcester, died on Friday, February 10th in the Umass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a long battle with cancer.
Paul is survived by his wife of 25 years, Simone H. (Silwoski) Rafferty Castle of Worcester; a son Paul D. Castle Jr. of Worcester; three daughters Robin Castle Snyder of Oakham, Donna Castle and Melissa Castle both of Worcester; two brothers Richard Castle of Worcester and Vincent Castle of Dedham, MA; many step children, grandchildren, great grand children, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Castle was born in Worcester, son of the late George and Mary (Kersis) Castle and is also predeceased by a brother George Castle and a sister Dorothy Crossley.
He is a veteran of the United States Navy and worked his entire adult life as a painter for many local contractors including Drelinger Building and Decorating retiring in 1998. Paul enjoyed many things in life, especially camping, fishing and hunting.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Vijay Kasturi and the staff on the 7th floor of Umass Memorial – University Campus for the exceptional care and support that was given to Paul in his final days.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 15th at 2PM in the Vernon Hill American Legion Post 267 Providence Street. Memorial contribution’s in Paul’s name may be made to Why Me Inc. c/o Sherry’s House 1162 Pleasant Street Worcester, MA 01602.
