Mary A. (Scialoia) Hall, 84, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday February 9, 2012 at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. She was the beloved wife of the late George C. Hall who died on December 31, 1990.
Born in Mansfield, MA on December 18, 1927, she was a loving daughter of the late John, Sr. and Annie (Abato) Scialoia. She grew up in Mansfield and was a 1945 graduate of Mansfield High School.
In addition to being a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, when younger Mary had worked at the former Fairfield Optical Co. in Mansfield and also for the Mansfield School Dept. as a former cafeteria worker and at the kindergarten as a substitute teachers aide.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, she was also a longtime supporter of the First Christian Church in West Mansfield. Mrs. Hall was an active member of the Mansfield Council on Aging. She especially enjoyed attending the councils Wednesdays line dancing group and the monthly dinner dances.
Mary’s greatest passion in life was her family, and she will always be fondly remembered as a wonderful homemaker and for her exceptional cooking skills.
She is survived by her devoted children; Cristine C. Pfeil and her husband Joe of North Providence, RI, Carolyn M. Santos and her husband Bob of Mansfield and the late Gregory S. Hall and his wife, the late Jody A. Hall. The dear sister of the late John Scialoia, Jr. and Fannie Maynard, she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Kenneth Pfeil and his wife Judy of Chelsea, JoeAnne Manberg and her husband Shawn of New York, Jillian Rossi and her husband Matt of Coventry, RI, and Matthew Santos and Julie Santos both of Mansfield, her great grandchildren; Alyssa and Anthony, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday February 13th at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St.(Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday February 12th from 3-7 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
