Obituary

SALEM - Jennie F. (Antczak) Solovicos, 93, of Salem, died Monday, February 6, 2012 following a brief illness. She was wife of the late Theodore M. “Teddy” Solovicos, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marianna (Zielinski) Antczak. and was a lifelong resident of the city.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed for over 25 years as a store manager for Fanny Farmer, first in the Salem store and later when they moved to the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers. She also worked with her late husband in the family business, Ted’s Martha Sweets on Essex St., across from the Hawthorne Hotel.

Jennie was a long time member of the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Salem. She enjoyed Bingo and often attended bingo games at various locations in the greater Salem area. In the summer, she enjoyed her daily visits to Hobbs Restaurant, where she would have some lunch and socialize with the customers and employees. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.

She is survived by three sons, Manly T. Solovicos and his wife Ruby, of Melbourne, FL, Theodore M. Solovicos, Jr and his fiancee Terri Saunders of Salem, James T. Solovicos and his wife Joanne of Peabody, 6 grandchildren, Mark Solovicos of San Francisco, CA, Chase Solovicos of Hollywood, CA, Shannon Luis of Peabody, Julie Solovicos of Danvers, Christina and her husband Tyler Roberts of Salem, Angela and her husband Ryan Kendall of Naples, FL, 1 great grandchild, Emma Luis of Peabody, one brother, Arthur Antczak of San Diego, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Leo Antczak, Bruno Antczak, Helen Kenney and Lucy Sorenson.

A committal service will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11 am at the family lot in Greenlawn Cemetery, Orne Street, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
