Michael DiFronzo of Medford died peacefully at home in the company of his dear family. He was 87.
Born in Medford, the son of the late Michael and the late Diomera (Vitello) DiFronzo, Michael was raised in Norwich Connecticut. During the Second World War, he served in the US Navy in the Pacific and American Theatres. He eventually settled in Medford and worked as a mechanic at International Truck and Engine on Mystic Avenue. Proud of his service, Michael was a generous supporter of various veterans groups.
The beloved husband of Barbara (Swanson) (Sullivan) DiFronzo, he was a devoted father to Patricia McLarnon, Andrew DiFronzo, Anita DiFronzo, Stephan DiFronzo, Lisa DiFronzo and step son Robert P. Cipriani. He was a loving grandfather to Andrew Jr, Jennifer, Jason, Daniel, Richard, Elaine and great-grandfather of Katia, Natalia, Nico, Jackson and several other great-grandchildren. He was a dear brother to Louis DiFronzo and the late Ralph DiFronzo.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, February 10th at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Melrose, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
