James (Jim) Dixon Brokaw, age 85, passed away February 5, 2012 at the Cardigan Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Greenbush. Born in Canton Ohio, he grew up in Milton. He lived in Norwell for 57 years, 52 of those years were spent at his Bowker Street home.
He was the husband of the late Lillian (Brown) Brokaw. He is survived by his daughter Chellis Brokaw of Quincy. He will be missed by many close friends and neighbors.
Known professionally as Jim Dixon, he was a prominent Boston radio and TV broadcaster. In his younger years, Jim was active in local theater. Jim enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. He was a keen follower of global and regional events. He also enjoyed keeping up with neighborhood news. Most of all Jim loved people. He enjoyed meeting people and talking with people. Through out his life, he made friends everywhere he went.
