Thomas, West Virginia---Mrs. Gazelle Vengen Dennis, 90, of Martinez GA and a recent resident of Cortland Acres, Thomas, WV, entered into rest on Friday, February 3, 2012.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Westover Memorial Park, with Father Justin Ferguson officiating.
Mrs. Dennis had been in declining health. She was born July 24, 1921 in Thomas, WV a daughter of the late John and Nellie Vengen. She graduated from Thomas High School in 1939 and was employed by Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company during World War II. She was married to Paul Dennis, Lieutenant US Army, in September 1947 and they lived in Germany for two years followed by Alabama, South Carolina and Georgia. She worked in the office of Sherman and Hemstreet Real Estate from 1954 until she retired, in 1996. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Grovetown GA.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Warren Dennis who died in October 1985, one step son Paul Dennis Jr., one sister Anna Gotinsky and four brothers Stanley, Albert, Adolph and John Vengen.
She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Carr of Virginia Beach, VA., now a resident of Cortland Acres and Loretta Cooper of Canaan Valley, Davis West Virginia, one brother, Joe Vengen of Hope, New Jersey and one step daughter, Carolyn Bess of Palmyra, Virginia.
No visitation is scheduled. Those desiring to attend the services are asked to meet at Westover Memorial Park, on Tuesday.
