Ruth Evangeline (Smith) Mills of Danvers, 90, passed away in Beverly Hospital on February 3, 2012.
Born in Piermont, New Hampshire on August 31, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Albion and Addie (Davis) Smith. Ruth had been a Danvers resident since 1947 and a past member of the Maple Street Congregational Church in Danvers. She had been employed at the former Snyder’s Jewelry Store in Danvers Square and Almy’s Department Store in the Danvers Plaza. Ruth most recently worked at CVS also in the Danvers Plaza, where she retired at 82 years old.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Judith Mills of Hancock, NH, a brother Albion Smith of Marlborough, eight grandchildren, Michelle Maihos, Kristin Charrette, Amy Maihos, Emily Cullen, Heidi Jordan, Robert Mills, Charlie Mills and Alex Mills, one niece Nancy Smith-Davids and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be private at the request of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s name to the Danvers People-to-People Food Pantry, P.O. Box 2076, Danvers, MA, 01923. Arrangements are made by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
