Barnett, Michael F., 60 years of age, died suddenly January l2, 20l2, in Kansas, formerly of Marshfield, MA. Michael was born in Boston, moved to Marshfield in l96l and attended Marshfield Schools. He had an unfortunate childhood that included the early death of both parents. Although Michael struggled with drugs and alcohol in his early years, he was a recovered addict. He found peace in his middle years through the Buddist philosophy and the teachings of Baba and Siddha Yoga. He gave his tender heart to all who knew him and we are all better people for it. Michael is survived by his loving sister, Joan Barnett, formerly of Marshfield and currently Orlando, FL. Nieces and nephews Regina Porter of Marshfield, Lizanne Porter Rhodes of Marshfield, Maura Porter of Weymouth and Chris Porter of Orlando. He was the great uncle of Lucas Rhodes of Plymouth, Larissa Rhodes of Marshfield, Matthew and Geoffrey Porter of Florida. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Eugenie(De Marsh) Barnett and Reginald Barnett and his brother R. James Barnett.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. ll, 20l2 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St., rte. l39, Marshfield. Friends are welcome to join family for visiting at l0 a.m. followed by a memorial service at ll a.m.
Michael’s ashes will be interred with his beloved mother in a private family burial.
