Rebecca “Becky” Lott Dickens, 76, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, February 3, 2012, at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, February 6, at Ocilla Church of God with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Dickens was born October 31, 1935 in Berrien County, Georgia to the late Elisha and Allie Stinson Lott. She attended school in Alapaha, GA where she played basketball. She retired from Champion Sportswear. She also worked as a former employee of Irwin Manufacturing Company, Barfield Furniture, Men’s Den in Fitzgerald and was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Charles F. Dickens of Ocilla; Sons and daughters-in-law: Charles Elisha and Vivian Dickens of Ocilla, Bailey and Latrelle Dickens of Davidson, NC and Jack and Deborah Dickens of Pekin, IL; Daughter: Lola Young of Fitzgerald; 12 Grandchildren; 13 Great grandchildren; Brothers: Earl and Zelma Ellis of Tifton, GA, Ed Ellis of Dothan, AL and Darrell and Guynell Lott of Alma, GA; Sisters: Mary Stuart of Ozark, AL and June Young of Fitzgerald, GA. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lamar Young, 10 brothers and 9 sisters.
