Beatrice "Bea" Eleanor Williams Morreo, age 85, died peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2012, surrounded by family at her home in Brooksby Village. She was the daughter of the late Mamie (Lindholm) and Bill Williams. She resided during her childhood years in Middletown, New York. She was the wife of the late Daniel Anthony Morreo and she lived in Andover with him for 40 years. Survived by 5 children, Susan Birrell, Gail Bryant, Mark Morreo, Martha Wiley, and Dan Morreo; 10 grandchildren including Christy, Brittany, Joshua, Randall, Molly, Robbie, Heather, Nicole, Ali and Abbey; and one great granddaughter, Ella Grace. She will be missed.
Though diminutive in stature, Bea had a giant of a smile. Born on July 18th 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the only daughter in the family. She is survived by a brother Clyde Williams of Tucson Arizona. Beatrice received her RN certificate from Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Beatrice completed a certified Nurse Practitioners Program from Northeastern University, Boston Massachusetts in 1976. She earned a Masters degree in Health Ed and Counseling from Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1984. Her nursing career included Assistant Supervisor of the Outpatient Department of Isham Infirmary Hospital, Phillips Academy Preparatory High School, Andover, Massachusetts; Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the Kennedy School and Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Director/Nurse Manager of School Health of the city of Cambridge Massachusetts.
When her husband and skiing partner of 50 years passed away, she did not slow down on the slopes or bike trails. A friend of Over the Hill Gang, International members around the world, she also enjoyed skiing and biking with her children and grandchildren. Her colleagues at Over the Hill gang said that “once you meet Bea Morreo, you know she is the stuff made of Legends.” In her own words she joined the over the hill gang for new experiences, learning from others, and widening her horizons.
Many relatives and friends attended a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Parish, 20 High Vale Lane, Andover, on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012, at 9:30 AM. Visiting Hours were held on Tuesday, February 7th, 2012, from 4 to 8 pm in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover. Burial was in West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover.
