James W. Burns Sr. passed away on February 2, 2012. He was 78 years old.
Born and raised in Winthrop, James was a longtime resident of Malden. He was also a resident of Medford for the past 10 years and had worked as a laborer for the railroad for many years. James served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Italian American Citizens Club of Malden.
James was the devoted husband of 57 years to Anne (DiGiantommaso) Burns. He was the beloved father of James Burns Jr. and his wife Michelle of Medford. James was the dear brother of Roland Burns of Wilmington and the late Frederick Burns and cherished grandfather of Antoinette and Sarah Burns. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday, February 6th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
