Obituary

Joan Tranter Cucinotta, age 85, a longtime Natick resident, died peacefully at Riverbend of South Natick after a brief illness on Tuesday morning, January 31, 2012. Born in New York, NY, on September 7, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Nora (Foster) Tranter. She was raised and educated in Wellesley and was a graduate of Dana Hall. Joan settled in Natick in 1949 and was employed throughout her career as a legal secretary in the law offices of Attorney Bud Black. After her retirement, she enjoyed working part time with the Kiwanis Club of Framingham. A baseball and Patriots fan, Joan was also fond of antiquing and for many years had spent summer vacations camping in Maine. She had also wintered in Nokomis, Florida for several years. Just one month shy of their 34rd wedding anniversary, she is survived by her husband, Domenic R. Cucinotta; a son, Robert R. Guigli and wife Rita of Natick; two daughters, Sandra Feeney and husband Robert of Natick, and Christine J. Guigli of Taunton; a sister, Judith Foster and husband John of Cornwall, UK; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Pauline J. Scheffler, in 2001. Services will be private. Donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Riverbend Activities Fund, 34 Lincoln St., Natick, MA 01760, or the Natick VNA, 209 W. Central St., Natick, MA 01760. The directors and staff of John Everett & Sons Funeral Home of Natick are assisting the family with arrangements.
