Atkinson, NH – Suzanne E. Shuman-Slipp, 60, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at her home with her loving husband by her side after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Suzanne was born on April 12, 1951, the daughter of Charles H. Shuman, Jr. and Lucy E. (Bajgot) Shuman. She graduated from St. Mary’s of Annunciation High School in Cambridge. She earned her LPN at Youville School of Nursing in Cambridge. She continued to earn her RN and RNP at Northeastern University. She then matriculated to Emmanuel College, where she earned a bachelor of science in business management.
Suzanne worked in area hospitals, including Cambridge Hospital, Northeastern University Infirmary, and The Fernald School before retiring from The Gillette Company in Andover in 1998, where she worked as a nurse manager in the medical department. In her free time, Suzanne and her husband were avid travelers. She loved interior design and spending time on the Maine seacoast.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Dr. Donald Slipp; 4 stepchildren, Kathleen, Ellen, Michael, and Alison; 10 sisters, Christine Arruda, Paula Shuman, Teresa Savioli, Eva Marie Chiango, Annette Leach, Lisa Magliozzi, Amy Elizabeth Shuman, Marguerite Shuman, Michelle Shuman, and Andrea Lucy McFarland; 3 brothers, Karl M. Shuman, Kazimierz (Kaz) Shuman, and Adam Shuman; 4 grandchildren, Tess Bedingfield, William Bedingfield, Henry Bedingfield, and Ian Slipp; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister, Rene Mary Shuman.
At the request of the family, all services will be private. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
