Shirley A. (Dyer) Mosson
Retired Assistant Accounts Payable Manager for Purity Supreme
TEWKSBURY: Shirley A. (Dyer) Mosson, age 78, a resident of Tewksbury for over 55 years, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
She was the beloved wife of John N. "Jack" Mosson, Jr. with whom she celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on December 12, 2011.
Born in Norwood on September 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. Dyer and the late Mary E. (Keese) Dyer.
Shirley was raised in Wakefield, attended Wakefield Schools and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1951.
Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was employed as the Assistant Accounts Payable Manager by Purity Supreme Markets in Billerica, where she worked for 20 years.
She resided in Tewksbury since 1955.
Shirley was an active member and past treasurer of the original Tewksbury Garden Club.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the continental United States, knitting, crochet, and visiting the Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino in Connecticut.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, John N. Mosson, III and his wife Nancy of East Thetford, VT; two daughters, Linda J. Mosson of Tewksbury and Judy A. Smith and her husband Justin of Westmoreland, KS; two grandchildren, Meagan and Jocelyn Smith; one brother, Richard N. Dyer and his wife Theresa of Enfield, CT; two sisters-in-law, Carol Ann (O'Shea) Dyer of Enfield, CT and Dorothy (Kenyan) Dyer of Westfield; also many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was the sister of the late Frank E. Dyer, Jr. and Robert C. Dyer.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Feb. 5, from 1-4 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Interment to follow at Tewksbury Cemetery.
