Athena (Biternas) Grassello, a 54 year resident of Lawrence, died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Wingate at Andover.
Born in Nashua, New Hampshire on January 20, 1921, she was daughter of the late James and Maria (Padios) Biternas. Athena was a homemaker and she loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover.
Survivors include her husband Italo Grassello of Lawrence, her son, Joseph J. Grassello and his wife Catherine of Wakefield, her daughter, Maria N. Miara and her fiance John "Jack" Pedra of Lynnfield.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends attended a funeral service on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 71 Chandler Road, Andover. Calling hours were held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, from 3-8 PM in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover.
