GLOUCESTER: Ruth C. (Larkin) Silva, 89, died Monday, January 30, 2012, in the Golden Living Center. She was the wife of the late Jule A. Silva, who was killed during World War II.
Born in Rockland, Maine on April 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Fenwick M. and Anna A. (Gammon) Larkin.
Mrs. Silva worked for twenty-six years at G.T.E. Sylvania in Danvers before her retirement in 1987. She was also a member of the Quarter Century Club, the Beverly Senior Citizens and St. Peter’s Church in Beverly.
She is survived a son and daughter-in-law, J. Peter, Sr. and Geraldine F. (Allen) Silva; two grandsons, Joel Peter Silva, Jr. and David Andrew Silva; three great-grandchildren, John B. Wright, Lindzy A. Silva and Markus W. Silva; sister, Donna M. Larkin; two brothers, James R. Larkin of Florida and John R. Larkin of Gloucester and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by six siblings, Andrew M. Larkin, Eleanor Winslow, Dorothy A. Strangman, Adna W. Blatchford, Fanny P. Larkin and Clinton K. Larkin.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services.
