Pauline M. (DiGregorio) Silva, 89, a resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center in Lawrence. Her spouse of 61 years Edward F. Silva died October 30, 2003.
Polly was born in Boston, MA on December 10, 1922 to Anthony and Crocefissa (LaFerla) DiGregorio. She was raised and educated in East Boston and married the boy across the street in 1941 at the onset of World War II. They had three children and moved to Wilmington, MA where she lived for 50 years. She was loving, generous, and kind and her family was the most important part of her life.
Polly is survived by her children: Diane Kay and her husband Steven of Derry, NH, Gerry Silva and his wife Joline of North Andover, MA, and Mark Silva and his partner Ratna Srinivas of Bradford, MA. She will be remembered as a loving grandmother to Sean Nicholson of Manchester, NH, Adam Silva of Portsmouth, NH, and Cara Silva of North Andover, MA. Her great- grandchildren are Ryan and Kayla Nicholson of Manchester, NH. Polly also leaves her brother Salvatore DiGregorio, and sisters Mary Christopher and Dorothy Indeck and her husband Harvey, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Michael and Albert DiGregorio.
