Gillian Violet (Edgar) Pavia, 67, of Franklin, passed into eternal rest as a result of prolonged Alzheimer’s disease on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at home surrounded by her husband of 36 years, William “Bill” Pavia, and loving family. Gillian was born August 6, 1944 in Newark, England, the daughter of the late Francis & Violet (Bains) Edgar.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; Gillian Welby of Bellingham, Keith Welby of Bellingham, Deborah Danello of Franklin, Keith William Pavia and his wife Nikie of Hopedale, and Michael Pavia of Rehoboth. She was the grandmother of Corey Roe and Erika Stone of Bellingham, Katie, Ashley, and Rachel Danello of Franklin, and Gage and Gavin Pavia of Hopedale. Gillian leaves her mother-in-law Dora Pavia of Forest, Virginia; four sisters and one brother in England, Pauline, Dorothy, June, Jean and Roy, and niece Carol Meehan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dean and Kathy Pavia, Robert and Carol Harris, Joseph and Mary Beth Pavia, Gloria Almond and Dennis Gottuso all of Virginia; and Robert and Beth Pavia of Upton. She was predeceased by five (5) siblings all of England and a sister-in-law Donna Pavia Gottuso of Forest, Virginia. Gillian will be greatly missed by her dearest and closest friend, of 41 years, Diane Treacy, of Franklin. Gillian leaves a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; great nieces and great nephews from England, Virginia and Massachusetts.
Gillian was the co-owner of ABP Sign Company and Bellingham Self-Storage. She enjoyed traveling, visiting relatives and friends in Virginia and England frequently. Her enjoyment came from tending to her flower garden and caring for her home and family. Gillian was a member of the Franklin Lodge of elks.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 237 Pleasant Street, Franklin.
At Gillian’s request, there are no visiting hours.

Gillian’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Visiting Nurses Association of Walpole, especially Andrea; and the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice of Woburn for the tender loving care and compassion they provided to her and to the family.
