Obituary

SALEM - Jane A. (Pszenny) Sarnowski, 93, of Salem, wife of the late John T. Sarnowski, died Friday evening, January 27, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Aniela (Bartnicki) Pszenny and was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Sarnowski worked on a part time basis at the House of Seven Gables for many years.

Jane devoted much of her time as a volunteer at the Shaughnessy-Kaplan Hospital at the Dove Gift Shop and was recognized for her many years of service.

She was a communicant of the St. John The Baptist Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Polish Legion of American Veterans, Chapter 55 and the Women’s Polish American Citizens Club, all of Salem. In recent years, she served the city of Salem on the Board of Directors of the Salem Council on Aging.

Jane is survived by two sons, William Sarnowski and Theodore Sarnowski, both of Middleton, two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Kent Robarts of Ossipee, NH, Rosanne and Frederick Neidhart of Bristow, VA, 3 grandchildren, Christopher Neidhart of Washington, DC, Kurt Robarts of Bradford, Pamela Robarts Dindo of Topsfield and three generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Stephen Sarnowski and eleven sisters and brothers, Catherine “Kay” Pickett, Alice Connelly, Genevieve Wolkiewicz, Mildred Grabowski, Alphonse, Charles, Henry J., John W., Raymond J., Leo and Zygmont Pszenny.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 4 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
