Dade City, Florida- Mrs. Vera (Paolino) Sbrogna, 81, of Worcester passed away Thursday January 26th at the HPH Hospice House in Dade City, Florida with her husband Gus by her side.
Vera is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Mr. Augustine “Gus” Sbrogna of Worcester; two sisters, Josie Toronto of Long Branch, New Jersey, Laura Gunderson of Old Bridge, New Jersey, and a brother, Henry Paolino and his wife Beverly of Worcester; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Vera was pre-deceased by her brothers Pasquale and James Paolino and her sisters, Lucy Maleta, Esther Mulligan, and Mary Wasilak.
Vera was born December 30, 1930 in Worcester, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Domenic and Anna (Cafferelli) Paolino. Vera was predeceased by her step-mom, Rose Paolino.
Vera was a graduate of Commerce High School. She worked at New England Tool and Die in Worcester as an office administrator and later went on to work at New England Manufacturing in the payroll department. She also took many courses at Quinsigamond College.
Vera and her husband Gus loved to travel and were members of W.B.C.C.I. Travelers Club for over fifty years. They enjoyed many trips to Alaska, Mexico and throughout the United States.
Other memberships included the Holy Rosary Society, Circle of Friends at Our Lady of Mt Carmel- St Ann, and the Mass. Commission for the Blind.
Vera was a parishoner of Our Lady of Mt Carmel – St Ann Church.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday January 31st from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St. Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 11:00a.m. at Our Lady of Mt Carmel- St Ann Church in Worcester. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury. Visiting hours will be at the Funeral Home, Monday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Louis M.
