Margie Mary Durdin, 92, of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, January 27, 2012, at her residence. She was born on May 15, 1919 in Stewart County, TN to the late Charlie P. Green and Lottie Tippitt Green. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Glen H. Durdin and brother, Barney W. Green.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2 PM at Greenwood Cemetery with Geoffrey Sikes officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2012 from 10 AM until 1:30 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home.
Margie was a homemaker and helped her parents at Green's Boarding House, a Clarksville tradition. In recent years she survived a brush with death from the flu, a broken pelvis, a stroke, a broken hip and advancing dementia. She faced each challenge with characteristic determination and grit. She was a wonderful wife and mother.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Glen) Durdin (Roger Sanders).
Pallbearers will be Mike Parchman, Russ Parchman, Jim Edwards, Brad Edwards, Ronnie Powers, and Patrick Birmingham. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Schmidt, Paul Gibb, Henry Pike, Lindsey Skinner, Stanley Green, Roger Sanders, Karen Edwards, Wes Edwards, and Brice Hughes.
