Geraldine A. Gillis (Heffernan) age 78 of Canton passed away January 27th at the Norwood Hospital. Born in Boston, she was raised in Jamaica Plain and has lived in Canton for the last 36 years. She worked in the Rectory at St. Gerard Majella Church for many years as a cook and house cleaner during the time Father McLaughlin was the Pastor. She was also an active member of the parish and served as a member of the Altar Guild and volunteered on many other church committees. Beloved wife of the late John K. Mother of Kathleen Cody of Canton, Leeanne Reid & Marybeth Ellis both of Abington & Christine MacLellan of Brockton. Sister of Kathleen Floyd of Norwood & the late Mary Coulouris, Dolly Buddington, John & James Heffernan. Grandmother of Amanda Reid, Kayla Ellis, Emily & Timothy Cody. Visting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 4-7 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Monday morning at 10. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W.
