CHARLES CARTER “SKIP” SMITH, JR., 84, of Crestwood, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012.
He was the former owner of Prospect Hardware and Camelot Hardware, S&S Liquors and former owner/operator of Skip’s Parking Lots. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of Crescent Hill Lodge #456 and VFW Post #1170. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Smith.
He is survived by his children, Dan Cook Jr (Cathy), Lisa C. Jones (Donnie) and Connie D. Foley (Royce); sisters, Mariam Stigall and Barbara Smith; nephews, John, Billy and David Stigall; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also survived by his dog, Daisy Mae.
His funeral service will be 11am Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home - Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road, with entombment in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 2-8pm at the funeral home.
