James D. Smith, 53, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at his home.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Arp Cemetery, Irwin County with Rev. J.W. Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7:00 until 9:00 Saturday evening.
Mr. Smith was born November 20, 1950, in Miami, Florida, to the late Joseph Daniel “Dude” Smith and Germaine Smith. He lived in the community since 1991 from Miami, Florida. He attended Arp Baptist Church in Irwin County. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Canary.
Survivors include: two sisters: Betty J. Ransom, O’Brien, FL and Ruth Williams, Royal Palm Beach, FL; aunt: Jane Minshew, Rebecca, GA; three nieces and five nephews.
