Obituary

Mis, Genevieve A (Wojcik), 98, of Somerset passed away peacefully at home with her daughter at her side on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. She was the wife of the late Stanley J. Mis.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Chrzan) Wojcik, she lived in Somerset for the past fifty-one years.
Mrs. Mis was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, Polish cooking, and playing the piano. During her work career, she was a floor lady in the garment trade. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Women’s Guild, St Stanislaus Seniors, Holy Rosary Sodality, and Somerset Senior’s Club.
Mrs. Mis is survived by her daughter, Frances M. LaSalle of Somerset with whom she resided, grandchildren Carol Rose of Ledyard, CT, Richard LaSalle of Somerset, Rosemary Oppenheim of Agua Dulce, CA, and Gregory Weise of Fort Myers, FL. She is survived by four great-grandchildren Charles Rose, James Rose, Heather Oppenheim, and Christopher Weise. She is also survived by two sisters Frances Czerwonka and Irene Witengier, both of Fall River. Mrs. Mis was predeceased by her daughter Ann M. Weise, her brothers Walter Wojcik and John Wojcik, and sisters Ann Roman, Angela Serba, and Helen Kulpa.
Boyko Memorial Funeral Home 709 Broadway Fall River, MA is making funeral arrangements on behalf of the family. There will be no calling hours for Mrs. Mis. Her daughter and family will receive family and friends at St. Stanislaus Church Rockland Street on Monday at 9:30AM followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 AM and internment at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stewart Hospice, 275 Martine Street, Suite 109, Fall River, MA 02723.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Atwood 5 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, the Somerset Ambulance staff, Stewart Home Care, Dr. James Lisak, M.D., and Dr. Harvey Reback, M.D. for the years of compassionate care and attention.
