Smith, Mary Frances (nee Creasy) "Nannie", 89, of Fairdale passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Nazareth Home.
Mary Frances moved to Louisville from Barbourville, KY at the age of 19. She retired from Hazelwood Hospital with over 20 years of service as a Dietary Supervisor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ren Smith; grandson, Gene Patterson; and several brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, "four" children, Jane Hartman, Ronald Smith, Kathy Braun and cherished son-in-law, Mark; grandchildren, Chris Smith (Debi), Brandon Braun (Beth), Brent Braun (Molly), and Nicholas Braun; great grandchildren, Jessica Patterson, Ainsley, Ezekiel, and Lorelai Braun; brother, Jeff Creasy (Hazel) and Amos Creasy (Jean) of Delaware, OH; and sister, Ethel Pauline.
The family would like to express gratitude to Mary Frances's extended family, the staff at Nazareth Home Sunset; and Dr. Jane Cornett for their extraordinary care.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Nazareth Home Activities Program, 2000 Newburg Road.
Funeral service will be noon Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be 4-8 Wednesday and Thursday 10 until the service at noon at the funeral home.
