Barbara M.(Courville) Reed, 69, of 4 Columbus St., died Monday, February 18, in the UMASS-Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, after an illness.
She leaves her husband, of 59 years, Francis X. Reed, five sons, Francis J. Reed, Michael J. Reed, Kevin P. Reed, Raymond J. Reed and John P. Reed two a daughters, Terri Reed and Anne Marie Reed, a brother, Raymond Courville all of Worcester; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. A son, Stephen P. Reed, of Worcester, died in 1981 and a brother, Arthur F. Courville Jr. of Worcester, died in 1993.
She was born in Worcester,daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Martin) Courville. She graduated from St. Peter's High School. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and was a co-founder of the Columbus Park PTA. Mrs. Reed was a member of the Frateinity of the Litte Sister of Assumption.
The funeral will be held Thursday, February 21, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church 5 Spaulding St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, February 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
