METHUEN - William C. Holt, 85 of Methuen died Saturday January 21, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born and educated in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of John J. and Josephine (Christopher) Holt. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy, received the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal and was honorably discharged. William was a chemical processor and was also a member of the Teamsters Local 42 before retiring. He was a member of the Methuen American Legion Post # 122 and the VFW Arnold Greenwood Post # 8349. He enjoyed golfing, going to Foxwoods, spending time with his best friend Hannah and loved his dog Josie and all his animals.
The widower of Patricia M. (Treanor) Holt, he is survived by his children, William C. Holt, Jr., John J. and Joseph M. Holt all of Florida; Deirdre Duemling and her husband Carl of Methuen, MA, Andrea Rigano and her husband Basil of Malden, MA, Regis Connolly and her husband Kevin of Danvers, MA, Liam Holt and Jen Jop of Methuen, MA and Hannah Holt and her wife Sheila also of Methuen, MA.
Sister-in-law Vivian Holt of Methuen, MA.
Grandchildren William C. Holt, III, Eric, Christopher, Justin, Christopher, Janine, Erik, Desiree, Philip, Jared, Deirdre P., Rachel, Basil, III, Christopher, Andrew, Arianna, Marina, Bobby, Kristi, Siobban, Bridget, Patrick, Adam and Thomas.
20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
William was pre-deceased by his sons James E. and Robert E. Holt and infant daughter Patricia Mary Holt. He was also pre-deceased in death by his brothers and sisters Joseph and John Holt, Rachel Culbert, Ruth Picard, Mary Barker and daughter-in-law Peach Holt.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:00a.m. in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA.
