Norma Stringfield Scallorn, age 94, died Friday, January 20, 2012 at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services are planned for Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Aven officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM until service time.
Norma was born May 2, 1917 in Clinton, Indiana to the late Norman Willard and Mary Morgan Stringfield. She was a retired homemaker and a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Sardis, MS. Norma loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens, tending her chickens and playing Bingo. She was an immaculate housekeeper and an excellent cook. Norma is fondly remembered for the wonderful Sunday dinners she prepared for her large and extended family.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Devarney (Chester B.) of St. Albans, VT; a son, David Joseph Johnson of Water Valley, MS; ten grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Scallorn and a son, James Robert Carver.
