Florence W. (Wiberg) Sharek, 80, of Dartmouth died Friday January 20, 2012 at Sippican Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Sharek.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, the daughter of the late George and Amelia (Josephson) Wiberg, she lived in Dartmouth for most of her life.
Mrs. Sharek was the former president of the Association for Retarded Citizens of Greater New Bedford. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut. An avid golfer, she was a former member of Country Club of New Bedford. She enjoyed reading, playing Bridge and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include four sons, Steven Sharek and his wife Dolores of Dartmouth, Scott Sharek and his wife Randi of West Roxbury, Christopher Sharek and his wife Lynne of Carver, and Todd Sharek of Newton; and nine grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Lisa Sharek and sister of the late Charlotte Bundock.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 12 Noon at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 10AM - 12 Noon, prior to the service.
