
LACONIA, NH – Hazel Alice Proudfoot, 94, of Laconia, died peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Taylor Community in Laconia, NH.
Hazel was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of George H. and Alice B. (Morse) Moore. She and her husband, Charles E. Proudfoot (Deceased) lived in Bedford, MA for over 40 years. Hazel’s lifelong community participation in Bedford included serving as the Town Clerk, as a Librarian in the Public Library, was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Christ, the Women’s Club, Garden Club, the Bedford Minute Man Company, and the Locke Family Assoc.; In Andover, MA, she was active in the Senior Center. Hazel moved to the Taylor Community in 2000 where she was a member of the Congregational Church of Laconia.
Immediate family include: Bruce R. Proudfoot (Deceased); Dean M. Proudfoot & wife Vicki of Tiro, Ohio, their daughter Shelly, son Sean, and 3 grandchildren; Marilyn C. Refsland of Carbondale, CO, her daughter Gretchen M. Pfaff (Santa Barbara, CA), her husband Steve and his 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be planned by the family in April at the Shawsheen Cemetery followed by a gathering at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Bedford, MA.
