Dustin G. Steenbruggen, 39, of Norton, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, from early onset Alzheimer’s Disease at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, on Thursday January 19, 2012.
Born in Cambridge, MA on September 5, 1972, he was the beloved son of Gary J. and Rhonda M. (Manfredi) Steenbruggen of Norton.
Dustin spent his early childhood living in Brockton. He moved to Norton in 1985 and was a 1991 graduate of Norton High School. He also had briefly attended Northeastern University. While in high school he played tennis and soccer, and when longer was a standout hockey player.
Dustin had formerly worked for several years as a coin broker for Bunker Hill Rare Coin in Charlestown. For a period of time he resided in California, where he belonged to the Second City Improv Group.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton, Dustin enjoyed traveling and was quite talented as an artist. He loved spending time in the presence of family and friends, and will always be remembered for his outgoing social skills and unique sense of humor.
In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by his dear sister and brother; Amber E. Steenbruggen of Norton and Joseph D. Steenbruggen and his fiancé Jess of Taunton. The cherished grandson of Nella (DiLuzio) Manfredi of Newton and the late Lewis Manfredi, and John and Marie Steenbruggen, he is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday January 23rd at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday January 22nd from 4-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
