Dr. Irving I. Green
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, January 17, 2012, Dr. Irving I. Green, 90, husband of the late Edna Inez Brooks.
Dr. Green graduated from NYU with a Bachelor’s of Science and a PhD in Biochemistry from Duke University. He also received his MD from the University of Michigan. Dr. Green taught basic sciences at Paine College and also taught at MCG. He served as a medic during WWII in the South Pacific.
Family members include sons, Steve Green, MD and wife Connie of Augusta, GA, L. Brooks Green, MD and wife Rhonda of Evans, GA, daughter: Dhetra Green of Spartenburg, SC, granddaughter: Mallory Green, and sister: Shirley Rice.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 North Belair Road, Evans, GA 30809.
The family will receive friends following the service in the lobby at Wesley United Methodist Church.
