Shelby Jean Gattis Gaddy, 72, of Tifton died Monday, January 16, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joe Wiggins will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Billy Sikes, Michael Sikes, David Simpson, Jaimie Purvis, Richard Purvis and Scott Walden will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Gaddy was born on April 24, 1939 in Conyers and was the daughter of Fred T. Gattis and Clara Mae Swan Gattis, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold T. Gattis. She was retired from Towson Cold Storage.
Mrs. Gaddy is survived by her husband, Freddie Lee Gaddy of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Curt Simpson of Tifton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ola Mae James of Logansville and Patricia Ann and Raymond Sikes of Douglasville; two grandsons and their wives, David and Lori Simpson and Justin and Sandy Simpson; one great grandson, Aubrey Allen Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.
