Obituary

William J. Mullin, 92, a resident of Medway for the past 53 years, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Medway Country Manor. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Corbett) Mullin for 66 years.

Born in Cambridge on March 5, 1919, he was the son of the late Enoch and Esther (Thibeault) Mullin.

Mr. Mullin was a WWII Army veteran, attained the rank of sergeant and was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, the Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon with 2 Service Stars and the Purple Heart.

Before his retirement, Mr. Mullin worked as a maintenance engineer at Sylvania in Needham for 18 years and had formerly worked at Winiker’s Chicken Farm in Millis.

Mr. Mullin was a member of the Medway VFW Post #1526 and the American Legion Post #208 in Millis. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps and had an interest in computers.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Caroline Fletcher of Medway, four grandchildren, William E., Robert M. Jr., Christine R. and Timothy M. Fletcher and three great-grandchildren, Chelsea L., Amanda E. and Alison M. Fletcher.

He was the brother of the late Paul Mullin.

At the request of his family, graveside services will take place privately at Oakland Cemetery in Medway.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Medway Country Manor Activities Fund, 115 Holliston St. Medway, MA 02053.
