Olympia Rose (Greco) Guillette, 88 years, of North Easton formerly of Brockton, died quietly at the Southeast Rehab and Skilled Nursing Care in North Easton January 14, 2012. She was the wife of the late Raymond C. Guillette, Sr. Olympia Rose was born in Bayonne, New Jersey; raised and educated in Yonkers, NY and settled in Brockton more than 60 years ago. She was the daughter of the late James and Rose (Jarabase) Greco. Upon high school graduation, Olympia Rose joined the Navy and served as a WAVE during WWII and continued to serve the needs of our military following active duty by working for the VA Hospital in Brockton.
In 1961 she went to work as a secretary for the former Mutron Corporation here in Brockton and remained with the company until her retirement in 1980.
She was a proud supporter of the Democratic Party and very active through the years in local politics; she was a lady who enjoyed “being involved”. She and her husband enjoyed many trips and vacations throughout the years to places warm and tropical to escape our cold New England weather. Many may remember her for her wonderful flower and vegetable gardens on Coral Street in Brockton where she made her home for 46 years.
She is survived by her two sons Raymond C. Jr. and his wife Janice of Sandwich and Richard and his wife Mary Rose of Plainville; her grandchildren Dennis, Timothy and Kerri Guillette, Janine Barrett and Richard Brack. She was the sister of the late Rick Bucchino, Clara Denise, Frank Bucchinno and Jeanette Rodgers.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday 9-11am immediately followed by a funeral service in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton.
