Funeral services for Alice Lavaine Luke Blanchard, 87, of Sycamore, Ga. will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ashburn, Ga. Mrs. Blanchard died Sunday at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Turner County, Georgia and had resided in Turner County all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Warren James and Mattie Rebecca Varnadoe Luke. She was a homemaker and a member of the Morningside Baptist Church in Ashburn. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter #287. She enjoyed cooking and feeding her family. She was the widow of Homer Blanchard.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Roger & Linda Blanchard, Sycamore, Ga.; her grandchildren, Pam (Raymond) Jones, II, Tifton, Ga., Nickie (Jeffery) Smith, Fitzgerald, Ga. and Scott Blanchard, Sycamore, Ga. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Raymond J. Jones, III, Roger J. Jones, Rueben J. Jones, Rebekah J. Jones, Ruthann J. Jones, all of Tifton, and Ava A. Smith, Fitzgerald, Ga.
Flowers will be accepted and appreciated, but at Lavaine’s request donation may be made to Westside Ministries for training and equipping pastors in Honduras, 424 Sylvia Drive, Ashburn, Georgia 31714
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
