Paul J. Gonsalves, a lifelong resident of Woburn passed away January 14th at the Winchester Hospital following a lengthy illness at the age of 59. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Donovan) together sharing nearly 31 years of marriage. Born in Woburn he was the son of Oliver P. Gonsalves of Woburn and the late Helen M. (McLaughlin).
Paul was raised and educated in Woburn and attended Woburn Public Schools. He worked for fifteen years as a truck driver with the Bay State Johnson Rose Company prior to beginning his career as a landscaper. He loved his work landscaping and enjoyed being outdoors. Mostly devoted to his loving family, He cherished spending time with his wife and daughters. For many years with his family, together they enjoyed vacationing during the summer at Hampton Beach where they made many lasting memories and shared many good times together. Paul was very dedicated to his family and to his work as a landscaper.
In addition to his wife and father, He is survived by his daughters, Kasey and Kylee Gonsalves both of Woburn. Brother and sisters; Gary and his wife Maryann of Marshfield, Gail Patterson and her husband Billy, David and his wife Diane, Mark, Glenn, and Karen Gonsalves all of Woburn. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday, January 19th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday from 4 thru 8. Interment will be private.
