George J. Barket, 45, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at home. He leaves his wife of 20 years, Linda A. (Sefranek) Barket; 2 daughters, Brianna and Taylor; his mother, Bernadette A. (Elhajj) Barket of Pottsville, PA; 3 sisters, Antoinette Hughes, Susan Kennedy, and Bernadette Dutton; and brother, Tony Koury; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
George was born in Pottsville, PA, son of the late John G. Barket. He graduated from Pottsville High School and Penn State University and worked as a branch manager for the Service Tire Truck Centers in Auburn. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Worcester. He enjoyed spending time with his family and with his faithful companion labs Buddy and Ruby.
Calling hours were held on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. A funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Patrick Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to First Assembly of God Church, 30 Tyler Prentice Rd. Worcester, MA 01605.
