Mrs Madeline H. Houston, age 83, of 565 Foxhollow Road Douglas Ga, passed away Saturday evening January 14, 2012 at South Ga Medical Center in Valdosta following an extended illness. Mrs Houstons services will be Tuesday January 17, 2012 at 2PM at the Bethany Holiness Baptist Church with the Reverend Leroy Spivey officiating. Interment will be in the Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be at Sims Funeral Home Monday night Jan.16, 2012 from 6-9PM.
She was the wife of the late James B. Houston.
Mrs Houston is survived by 3 sons, Emory Burke (Bonnie) of Douglas, Jimmy Burke(Beverly)of Nicholls Ga, and Elton Burke (Linda) of Jesus Ga; 2 daughters, Sandra Strickland (Wesley)of Waycross, Norma Lynn Vaught (Darrell) of Waycross. She is also survived by a Sister Maureen McGaughey (Jack) of Valdosta Ga and a daughter in law Pam Burke of Jesus Ga 13 Grandchildren Lisa Burke, Debbie Givens, Angie Tucker, Kimberly Cook, James Burke, Chad Burke, Donna Shuman, Sheree Yoder, Rhonda Burke, Wes Strickland, Stacey Smith, Jason Vaught, Ashley Vaught, Christopher Vaught,and Laurie Burke. She was preceded in death by a son Ronald Burke.
