RAYNHAM –William “Willy” Grover, husband of Faith A. (Bennett) Grover of Raynham, died at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on Jan. 12, 2012.
He was 69.
Born in Tewksbury, the son of the late Eleanor (Grover) Harvey, he was raised and educated in Wrentham by his grandparents, Benjamin Grover and Bernice Wheeler, and was a 1960 graduate of King Phillip Regional High School.
A retired businessman, well known in the environmental industry, Willy owned Grover Enterprises and Grover Pools.
An active member the Raynham Lions Club, he served as president of the organization from 2004 until 2006.
In his spare time, he enjoyed refurbishing pool tables, and was known for his skills with the cue.
An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, Willy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and family gatherings, and enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.
Besides his wife of 51 years, he leaves three sons, William D. Grover and Richard A. Grover, both of Raynham, and Michael J. Grover of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter, Patricia A. Grover of Brockton; two brothers, Leslie Harvey of Fairbanks, Alaska and Merle Harvey of Vermont; eight grandchildren, Theresa, Mark, Jennifer, Kerri, Sarah, Adam, and Matthew Grover and Danielle Letterman; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late John Harvey.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Jan. 19th at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Rehoboth Village Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 18th from 5 to 8 p.m.
