GLOUCESTER: Vincie M. “Chickie” (Randazza) Doucette, 88, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 in the Golden Living Center, Gloucester following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas L. Doucette, Sr. who died in October 2010.
Born in Gloucester on May 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rose (Frontiero) Randazza. She was raised and live in the same home, down the “Fort” her entire life. She attended Gloucester public schools and was married in 1939.
Vincie was employed as a fish cutter at Ocean Crest Seafoods for many years before retiring in the late 1980’s. She had also worked for several other fish processing companies over the years, including General Seafoods. She was devoted to her loving husband, family and home, where she loved to cook and bake.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, WilliamA. and Cheryl A. (Coull) Doucette and Thomas L., Jr. and Cecilia (Kyrouz) Doucette; four grandchildren, William A. “Buddy” Doucette, Jr. and his wife, Trina (Kerr), David G. Doucette and his wife, Sara M. (Piraino), Melissa F. Powers and her husband, Jason and Sean J. Doucette; seven great-grandchildren, Clinton T. Doucette, Shelby A. Doucette, Faith E. Doucette, Abigail M. Doucette, Anthony W. Doucette, Cali T. Powers and Cameron M. Powers and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by four sisters, Anna Kiley, Antoinette Parady, Rose Elwell and Grace Bouchie and two brothers, Tony and Benjamin Randazza.
Her funeral services will be held on Thursday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 260 Main St., Gloucester, MA 01930. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
