Coleman of Brockton, March 24, 2004, William B. Coleman, 77 years. Husband of the late Elva K. (Daly) Coleman. Father of Mary Ann Catabia of Marshfield; Marguerite Sheridan, Patricia DiRosario and Catherine Coleman all of Brockton; Christine Geddes of Martha’s Vineyard and Theresa Beckman of Stoughton. Grandfather of Wally, Stacie, Joseph, Michael, Matthew, Ann Marie, Jeffrey, Derrick, Megan, Joshua, Zachary and Wyatt. Great grandfather of seven.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 9 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm Donations in William’s memory may be made to Hospice of Greater Brockton, 500 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

Obituary Information

Mr. Coleman died Wednesday morning at his home after a lengthy illness. Born in N. Middleboro, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Mary A. (Donovan) Coleman; raised in Holbrook and attended Holbrook schools. He was employed by the City of Brockton, Building Department for over 20 years, retiring in 1992. During WW II he served in the US Army. He enjoyed fishing, racing motorcycles, working on and showing antique cars, Country Western music and working in his vegetable garden. Former member of Conte Memorial, Blue Eagles and Bocce Clubs.

He is survived by six daughters, Mary Ann Catabia of Marshfield; Marguerite Sheridan, Patricia DiRosario and Catherine Coleman all of Brockton; Christine Geddes of Martha’s Vineyard and Theresa Beckman of Stoughton, twelve grandchildren, Wally, Stacie, Joseph, Michael, Matthew, Ann Marie, Jeffery, Derrick, Megan Joshua, Zachary and Wyatt, seven great grandchildren.

He was the husband of the late Elva K. (Daly) Coleman and brother of the late Paul F. Coleman
