WORCESTER-Margaret M. Budney-Meservey, 42, of Worcester, formerly of Holden died Monday, February 18th in U-Mass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus after a long illness. She leaves her mother, Ruth E. (Bigwood) Budney of Worcester, three brothers Stephen E. Budney of Auburn, James A. Budney of Worcester and Christopher B. Budney of Webster, three sisters Diane M. Budney-Kowalchuk of Samborton, NH, Linda L. Poole of Bedford, NH and Catherine A. Friedman of Paxton, eight nephews and nieces.
She was born in Worcester her father was the late Theodore E. Budney. She was a graduate of South High School and Worcester State College. She attended Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA and University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth as part of the marine/graduate studies programs and was a member of the National Honor Society of Biologists. Ms. Budney-Meservey had been a Marine & Environmental Biologist for several companies for many years and was also a Foreign Fishery Observer for the National Oceanographic Atmospheric Association.
The funeral will be Wednesday, February 20th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 12:30 PM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from Tuesday, February 19th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
