Eduardo P. Pereira, age 81 of Fall River passed away Jan. 14, 2012. Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Victorino Pereira & Maria Alzira (Pimental) Pereira. Mr. Pereira was a resident of Fall River for 30 years, previously living in California. He was a Catholic Priest for the Diocese of Fall River assigned to Espirito Santo Church. He later became a Salesman and worked for 7 years as a Counselor for the Immigrants Assistance Center of New Bedford prior to retiring. He was known for his love for his family and for helping any one in need.
He is survived by his children: Sandy Pereira of Fall River, Brian Pereira of Acushnet, Jennifer Gardner of Maine, Michelle Evangelista of Malden, Paul Evangelista of Idaho, Ricardo Pereira of Fall River, Marcus Pereira of S. Dartmouth, Jay Raposo of Westport, & John Raposo of Fall River; siblings: Raymond Pereira of Fall River, Isabel Sousa & Manuela Travassos both of Somerset; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; & several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Luciano Pereira.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on THURSDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church, Alden St. at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours WEDNESDAY 5-8 P.M.
