Ollie Walker Mullis, 91, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 16, in the Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 Monday at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Mullis was born August 4, 1920 in Dodge County, GA to the late William L. and Mattie Cook Walker. She lived in Fitzgerald for the past sixty-four years from Rhine, where she graduated from high school. Mrs. Mullis was a retired telephone operator with GTE. She was a Hospice volunteer and a member of the First Baptist Church, the Rebekah Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne & Sue Mullis of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren; Jennifer Mullis (Stephen) Quinley and Jason Mullis; brother, Leonard (Helen) Walker of Orange Park, FL; sisters, Ruby Evans of Milan, Evelyn McCuller of Valdosta, Wilmetta Warren of Atlanta and Connell Tucker of Cordele as well as several nieces and nephews.
