Richard A. Gleason 50 of Norfolk died January 11, at his home following a long illness.
Born in Norwood, September 25, 1961, the son of Arthur and Norma (Jones) Gleason of Walpole, Mr. Gleason was raised in Walpole and had lived in Norfolk since 1992.
Mr. Gleason was a graduate of the Norfolk Agricultural School.
Mr. Gleason had owned and operated the R&D Auto Shop in Norfolk since 1991.
He had previously worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the former Foxboro State Hospital.
Richard loved to race cars and he also loved animals, of which he had many different kinds at his home.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Carol Ann Tatten and her husband Gerard of West Roxbury.
He is also survived by his nephews David and Alex.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, January 16 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole at 11:00 a.m.
Private burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
