WORCESTER-Josephine G. Scanlon, 91 formerly of 195 Stafford Street, died Monday, February 18th in U-Mass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus. She leaves a sister Helena C. Levitsky of Auburn and nephews and nieces. A brother Thomas F. Scanlon and two sisters, Mary F. Kittle and Lucille B. Murphy predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Charles M. and Martha G. (Kneeland) Scanlon and graduated from South High School. Ms. Scanlon had been a telephone operator for New England Telephone for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
The funeral will be Thursday, February 21st from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with at 11:00 AM Mass in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 9:30 until 10:30 AM the morning of the funeral.
