SPENCER: Helen B. (Bowmar) Cundall, 80, of 32 G.H.Wilson Rd., died Wednesday, Jan. 11 in Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton.
She was the wife of William S. Cundall, Jr. who died in 2010. She leaves her sons Richard Cundall, and his wife Amy and their son Geoffrey of Douglas, Robert Cundall and his partner Daniel Bross of Issaquah, WA, her daughters Lynn Harris and her husband Richard, and their son Daniel of Spencer, Gail Carpenter and her husband Steven and their daughters Chelsea and Elizabeth of Mars, Pa., her sisters Evelyn Sestini of Holliston, and Mildred Hathaway of Clearwater, Fl. many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Ruth Perkins and brother William Bowmar.
Born in Groton, she was the daughter of Ralph and Angie (Hall) Bowmar. Helen attended Groton Public Schools and Becker Junior College. She was employed for 17 years as an executive assistant at the aerospace firm David Clark Co. in Worcester, and was an enthusiastic supporter of the firm’s role in the U.S. space program.
Having lived in Spencer for over 50 years, she participated in several local organizations through out the years, including being a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Spencer. She was also an eager traveler and bowler. She enjoyed reading, music of many types and spending time with friends and family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Helen’s extended family of caregivers at The Overlook Communities.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 14 at 11a.m. in the Chapel at The Overlook, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Friends of the Richard Sugden Library, 8 Pleasant St., Spencer, Ma. 01562 or to an organization/charity of one’s choosing. J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing arrangements for the family.
